Redefining the Design Concept

In this collaboration, Watson Young Architects teamed up with PoliLam to infuse a new design vision into the Emmanuel College Ranson Building, located in Point Cook, Melbourne. This renovation transformed standard classrooms into innovative science labs, technology classrooms, and woodworking spaces, fully embracing the diversity and functionality of modern educational spaces. Through the choice of finishes, the design conveys a humanistic educational environment, enriching Emmanuel College's space with elements of science, nature, and art to create a learning atmosphere of aesthetic style and emotional resonance.

The Unique Charm of Green and Blue

PoliLam’s C0377 (Forest) and C0374 (Aegean) colors are soft yet deep, with a rich sense of layering. In this project, they reveal a unique charm through their innovative integration with the space and finishes. These colors not only captivate with their pure aesthetic appeal but also infuse the space with vibrancy and warmth, thanks to their inherent natural feel and modern aesthetics.

Color and Material: Resonance Across Space and Time

With its deep green (C0377) and serene blue (C0374), each classroom gains a distinct atmosphere. In this project, these colors—seamlessly integrated into the unique design of the space and cabinet doors—have been widely embraced. Extending from the cabinet surfaces, they not only give each area a striking identity but also help students feel calm and focused in diverse learning environments, enhancing their engagement.

PoliLam’s innovative material is visually stunning, with a fine texture and exceptional durability that adds comfort to everyday teaching and learning spaces. Its surface resists strong acids and alkalis, as well as impacts, water, moisture, heat, and abrasion. Easy-to-clean properties ensure each learning space stays fresh, while minimalist line designs make classrooms more streamlined, blending aesthetic appeal with practical functionality to offer a new educational experience.
